Vic: Loggers to blockade road ahead of Lorne Pier-to-Pub

MELBOURNE, Jan 11 AAP - Loggers angry about the Bracks government's plans to phaseout logging in the Otways will blockade the Great Ocean Road near Lorne today.

The protest coincides with today's Lorne Pier-to-Pub swim which attracts up to 25,000people to the coastal town each year.

A convoy of loggers will start at 8am (AEDT), with five trucks leaving every hour fromoutside Geelong through Lorne to a rally point just past the town.

The blockade will be held between 4.30pm and 5.00pm (AEDT).
